"of Passion"
He stood at his usual place on the balustrade. Looked up above the heads of its employees on the circular Corridor in the middle of the ARCs and watched as the long-missing members of his team entered. Connor and Abby looked tired. They were thin and the sun and weather tanned skin could not hide that the last seven months had them hit hard.
Lester stood there and felt in his suit and tie suddenly out of place before. When he thought about what the two missing people had in a world full of dangers lurking insidiously have to go through him to be well-structured life appeared effeminate and simple. He breathed and pushed those thoughts aside. While they shot for a split second through his brain were something else took all his remaining attention right: Connor. He had run with the other in the middle of the hall and saw Lester as he turned and seemed to find someone. For a moment he paused, then lifted his head and looked at him. Lester silently sucked in his breath between his teeth, as their glances met. Intensive and tense they drilled into each other, they seemed a universe of emotions and words together and move to the short distance away. They stared at each other and only as Sarah Connor happily fell on his neck were broken them.
Connor turned to the group and for the next few minutes seemed to consist only of the impact of people from the hands and pats, hugs and joyful welcome calls. A relieved smile played about Lester's mouth when he saw this.
The last months have been a torment. Again and again they had passed through anomalies and tries Connor, Abby and Danny found. Time and again they were returned without success. keep up the morale of the troops had demanded of all motor Lester. Especially since he began to lose even the hope. He had been dreaming of any horror scenario that there was. The probability of finding the right anomaly was negligible, but the possibility that all at that same time would be dead, all the greater. They were not trained to survive in such a world. How could it? Surrounded by carnivorous dinosaurs and other dangers that he could not even imagine.
dared to count more often than him, he was woken up at night drenched in sweat from a nightmare, another cruel scenario that the question "what if" embellishing to the smallest detail. There had been a time when he had devoted no eye had been a shadow of itself. Outwardly, he had to work and so he put on a suit and tie to the ARC to maintain the facade. But ultimately it was not a solution. The sleeping pills does. He could not afford to let herself go. He was the one to which all left and the one who had to rebuke them when he saw that they be expended. All worked in the team hard on the boundaries of their limits, but in particular Becker overdid it. Perhaps it was guilt, maybe the desperate hope the next anomaly to be finally find it, but Lester had him more than once to the call and in his place must. It was not so that he did not understand. On the contrary, he knew exactly what was going on in the soldiers, but it was also clear that it did absolutely nothing when he took over, and as a consequence of which failed.
Sighing, he put a hand on the cold railing. He was glad, Connor and Abby safe and sound to see again, but this victory had its drawbacks. Danny continued to be lost, and Lester could not yield to the triumph he felt as long as one of his men was still there. His eyes went back to Connor, he would have liked to be pulled and never released, but this was later more still time - after organizing the next rescue attempt for Danny.
