"Unusual Gifts"
There was a knock and Hotch looked up. Reid stood in the doorway, apparently uncertain whether to enter the office or not. Hotch smiled.
"Come." He asked the youngest member of the team and Reid obeyed. With a few steps, he stood at the desk.
"I ..." began Reid and Hotch held against a flat box, which noticed this only now, "got a little something here for you." He leaned over and gave him the gift. "Today is the last day before Christmas Eve and ..." he paused briefly before the sentence in a helpless "well" could end.
Hotch grabbed the box, could see its shape clearly what was in it.
"Thanks," he answered, smiling at Reid, "that would really not have been necessary."
nodded, the young genius and cleared his throat. "I know, but I would like to give you something."
Hotch glance slid between the boy and the gift back and forth before he began to fumble in the loop. Thoughtfully, he opened the box and lifted the lid. Including how he came to the fore had expected a tie. He smiled as he plays with the pattern on the printed material in the eye jumped. Curious, he later held the tie and looked at it in detail.
"Spencer ..." Hotch's voice swung between amused astonishment and reproach terror back and forth, "... is it on the tie, what I suspect this is it?"
Reid bent over the desk and looked interested in the brightly printed fabric. "Do you need your glasses?" He asked innocently, Hotch could hear the suppressed laughter in the seemingly harmless question.
"Spence," grumbled Aaron and put the tie back into the packaging. "This tie, I'll never be able to wear in public."
Reid shrugged his shoulders relaxed and strolled toward the door. Put his hand on the handle and he turned the handle. Before he left the room, he turned around again, a distinct smile on his face.
"Who said anything about public"
