Haldir watched from the treetop. Silently he sat among the green leaves, blended with its surroundings. Only a very astute observer could spot him, but he was sure that none of these people was able to do so.
Curious, he watched the group as they set up a tent. Obviously it was meant for the leader of the troupe, who had already dismounted from his horse and got passed by a servant of water. While
He looked at the whole thing, attracted his attention to two children. There were two guys that he estimated at about 6 and 10 years. Armed with sticks, they ran around the camp and between the legs of men. All of a sudden they stopped and subjected to alleged swords. The sticks popped another dull. Playfully challenged the two for a moment until they flew away.
"Give yourself up, Faramir," cried the elder of the two, and apparently ran after the fair-haired boy. This
laughed and did his best to escape his pursuers.
"Never!" he replied and glanced over his shoulder. He ignored the servant, who appeared out of nowhere in front of him.
"stockings", the impact drove the air from the lungs Faramir when he crashed hard against a pair of legs. Startled, he stumbled back a few steps and then dropped unceremoniously to the ground.
"Faramir!" The older of the two boys had gone to his playmates and knelt down beside him. Dazed looked this up and Haldir realized that Faramir was not only wet from the water which had poured from the pitcher of the servant to him, but also from the nose bled.
helped concern to the staff of the boys, while the dark-haired playmate pulled a handkerchief from his pocket and held out to Faramir. This looked pretty confused, but pressed the cloth against his nose.
Once it was clear that the collision had no serious consequences, both guys looked at the servant suspicious, probably in anticipation of a juicy tongue-lashing.
Haldir chuckled when he recalled his youth. How often he and his brothers had put in similar situations. They were not tame and had been a prank cooked up by one. With a touch of nostalgia, he remembered the day when the RĂºmil, Orophan and he had sneaked into Celeborn Fletcher to anywhere in the room to hide cheese. Only days later could be heard the sharp stench. They were transferred quickly as the culprit and there had been a thunderstorm that had washed himself, but only the face of her prince, it was worth. He chuckled quietly, watching the action ahead of him.
The elder of the two bullies had built up before the minister, and glared at him aggressively, while the younger one seemed intimidated and continue to the cloth pressed against his nose.
Haldir saw the servant said something and Faramir nodded hesitantly. Then the man laughed and ruffled the unhappy-looking child conciliatory hair. The dark-haired boy relaxed and smiled as a sharp cry rang through the camp.
"Faramir!" The voice was stern and cold, and Haldir's head snapped surprised to right.
from the now constructed tent was the leader of the troops came and stared angrily in the direction of the three. The look on the face of the younger was anxious and his whole posture was Haldir to understand that he was terrified.
With drooping shoulders, his gaze lowered down, he went to the man Haldir LTTE as a prince. The second boy ran next to Faramir. Accompanied by the ministers they came to the leader. Haldir listened intently, but got only fragments of the conversation. Only a few words were to him, but his hearing was not necessary, so he understood what was happening before his eyes.
Faramir pressed the cloth hard against his nose, and hardly dared look up. The dark-haired boy, meanwhile, had imperceptibly between the man and pushed his playmates. He led a lively discussion and Haldir heard snatches as "accident", "no intention" and "nothing happened". Even the servant mingled on the conversation, but his master immediately referred him to his limits. Haldir continued to listen. "Father", "Faramir" and "brother" fell, so that he finally understood that he was witness to a family dispute here. Obviously, the two young brothers and the leaders of the company her father.
That made the scene before him all the more incomprehensible to the Elbe. The father of two was seriously upset and had no valid arguments in defense of his younger son. The words "failure" and "incapable" pressed to his ear, while the man's voice sounded sharp and cold. It was a sound that Haldir did not expect from a father and which he knew not of his own youth. Of course, his father had often scolded them, but never in this way. How could a humble man his own son so he and a "failure" ? Gripe
anger welled up in him and he was tempted to leave his hiding in the treetops. But he could not do. He was a quiet observer, who had met by chance in this group of people. Their problems were not his problems and it would be unwise to interfere. However, this did not alter the fact that he pitied the boy.
Haldir's eyes were still at the four figures and he looked like a father to his son slightly injured one last glance threw steel. Then he turned abruptly and went into the tent.
The two boys were left behind, Faramir clearly shaken. Comforting his brother put his arm around his shoulders and led him away from the tent. Quietly they sat on the edge of the camp and Haldir could see that the older one has tried to cheer his brother. He nodded sympathetically. At least the two had together, he thought, before he quietly slipped down the root and the greenery of the forest disappeared.
